Digital photography effects are simple using your computer. Here is a simple example of how great a picture can look. No not in color - but in black and white or even sepia. Here is an example.

We love this shot. Kids not matter what there age always look so adorable - well I guess after 25 it is not so adorable but we will cross that bridge when and if we get there.  This one is just starting to stand. Look out when he starts to walk! Now let's look at him with black and white.

This nice aspect of black and white is that color doesn't matter. So if we didn't like the color of his green pants, no problem just turn the picture into black and white. Hey, we like the retro look too!

This gives the picture a very artistic feel to it. Hey you don't need to be an expert to do this. Most software will at least have the ability to do black and white. Others will let you do sepia and some other very cool effects.
