Goldfish anyone?

I had this up before but I was having some issues with using pictures and blogger. But it seems to be all solved!!

Why goldfish? My 2 little sons love them and they are getting me back into snacking on them. Hmmm... I wish I had them right now at my hotel.

Yummy... Are you getting hungry?? And did you know that they make them in a wide range of colors and sizes now? Well more colors - just 2 sizes that I have seen. Oddly my sons prefer the yellow ones still.

Photokina Show & Christmas

With the 2004 Photokina Show on & Christmas no to far away, I wonder what I will be asking for Christmas. Now, I know that I should be worrying about saving, retirement, college education funds for my kids.

But I keep on dreaming of getting a new fast digitial camera and can maybe take some okay video (not dvd quality but I'll take TV quality). Yeah I love my Nikon 4300. But I find that I miss too many shots of my 2 boys especially my 20 month old. Way too fast for his age!

So I wonder if the manufactures will get to 10 megapixels before offering a digital camera with just 3 to 4 megapixels, fast shot-to-shot (hey since I am at it - including shots using a flash), and can take decent video with sound.

Indexing Digital Photos

Just read an interesting article from Wired Magazine. Tried to find it online but I guess it is too new. Basically the premise is that the next major wave for digital photography for consumers is managing their growing collection of digital photos.

Think about it - who really deletes their digital photos. I have over 2k pictures and growing. So how does one find a particular picture?? You can always go by date which is the easiest. But how about finding all of the pictures of a particular family member. That would be tough so the only "time consuming" thing to do is to tag your pictures. But who has the time?? The article points out that maybe software will be smarter to recognize faces etc. but I find this a huge task for any software program. Or, maybe cameras will tag each picture with the location of the photo using GPS.

This is a pretty cool problem because there needs to be a solution. I smell a business opportunity...

8 Megapixels? Rant

I am so tired of the megapixel race. Does the average joe/jane need more than 3 or 4 megapixels? I don't think so.

I wish the manufacturers would focus on the timings of the cameras. I see some improvement in this area but I think it is a place where there can be more improvement.

Would do you all think??
